    About the Fund

The regional charitable fund of Aid to development of creative work of disabled children “A Child’s View” was founded on March 1, 2000. The fund sets itself a great number of tasks, but the main aim of it is adaptation of disabled children by means of art. Creative work is one of few opportunities to tell about to the world around for those children.

The mainstream of activity of the charitable fund “A Child’s View” is organization and holding of exhibitions and festivals of children’s creative work.

“Exhibitions give a good opportunity to the children to demonstrate their abilities, to feel love, support and sympathy of the society in their destiny. The fund helps the children to feel themselves high-grade members of the society. Being absorbed in art is the best therapy. Creative work helps them to express their world vision, a child’s vision. We are sure, that art will help the disabled children to break the barrier of estrangement from the society” – says a poet-composer, art-director of the fund Irina Gribulina.

The children’s art gallery “A Child’s View” cooperates with more than 120 boarding schools, rehabilitation centres, children’s homes, public organizations in Moscow and Moscow region, Severouralsk, St.-Petersburg, Sevastopol, Vologda, Glazov, Apsheron, Tuapse, Beslan, Grozni, Krasnodar and Stavropol regions, Tula area, Karelia, Riga, etc.

The fund gives every month scholarship to the talented disabled children and supports the teachers if imitative and applied arts financially ( the teachers who work with the disabled children successfully).

22 specialized studios of children’s creative work function at the support of the fund. Some of the m are “Iskorki”, “Raduga”, “Tatyana”, “Solnishko” , “Akvarelki”, “Malenkiy Prince”, ceramics studio and a potter’s workshop, studios under direction of teachers Malenkova A.I., Podvisotskaya A.P.

During 7 years of its existence, the fund held more than 130 art exhibitions and festivals in the most prestigious halls of Moscow in the State Tretyakov Gallery, in the Central Exhibiting Hall “Bolshoy Manezh” , in the Central Palace of Artists, in the Temple of Christ the Savior, in the Central Park of Culture and Rest after Gorki and in other showrooms of the capital. Participants of the exhibitions are disabled children, children from unfavourable and needy families.

Exhibition activity is the main, but not the only line of activity of the fund. The fund “A Child’s View” holds different children’s holidays, festivals, master-classes, concert programmes. Besides contacts and positive emotions the children get the most important thing, that is sensation of own importance. The fund does all its best to make each event remarkable : the children don’t live for home with empty hands, they receive toys and sweets, children’s magazines, books and all necessary things for a creative work, such as paints, brushes, sketch-books and coloured papers.

It requires a lot of strength to work with such children, no doubt these children need special attitude during the trainings. However there is no opportunity to train the most talented children individually in the boarding-schools. That’s why the fund includes in its development programme foundation and opening of a universal Art Centre for disabled children, a centre with a showroom, where could be demonstrated works of disabled children, a concert hall, studios for teaching both disabled children and the healthy ones the same age, a consulting centre for teachers of graphics and an applied art, baget –studio to design and decorate the children’s works, a publishing centre to publish a special literature for disabled children, storage facilities for keeping the children’s works and all the material necessary for a creative work of the children.

The lawyers of our fund give chargeless professional advise concerning protection of children’s rights and also socially not protected categories of citizens. Nowdays it is especially necessary, as quantity of homeless and parentless children constantly grows, and their rights are broken very often. We are ready to give chargeless professional advise concerning all questions in this sphere and to help them to solve the problems.

The Chairman of board of directors of charity foundation Krokin E. was decorated with an order of the Russian Orthodox Church, rewarded with diplomas and honorary charters of Moscow government for a charity.

In 2006 Krokin Evgeni got a prize “Social recognition” in the nomination “Art patron in the Central Administration Region”, the prize was given by Public Chamber of RF and our fund was given a prize “Social recognition” in the nomination “The best Children’s Project” for organization and holding art exhibitions of works of disabled children.

A unique children’s art gallery “A Child’s View” opened in the centre of Moscow on September 4, 2003. It is the only children’s art gallery in Russia, where are presented the expositions of works of disabled children such as children with full and partial loss of hearing, chained by illness to a wheelchair, visually impaired, with speech disturbance, children whose parents are deprived of their parental rights.

Opening of the gallery is the first step on the way to an Art Centre creation for disabled children.

We judge of wellbeing of the society from that, how much attention the government pays to the problems of socially not protected layers of the population. Not many people are interested in the destiny of the children who are deprived of their share, and some people are simply frightened with a word “disabled”. It should not be so in the civilized world. We should do all our best the disabled children did not feel deprived them of their share.
